Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
Invitation-only early access
Acadu is currently available on an invitation-only basis to selected early-access users. It is not a public service, is not offered for sale, and no payment is taken or required. These terms are provided in good faith ahead of any future commercial launch.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Acadu, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Account and access
Access to Acadu is granted at our discretion. New accounts may require approval before they can be used. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Invitation only. Acadu is currently available on an invitation-only basis to selected early-access users, ahead of any commercial launch. You must not share your account, invite others, or make the service available to the public. We may withdraw access at any time.
3. Age and parental consent
Acadu is intended for students aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with your parent’s or guardian’s permission, and you confirm that they have read and accepted these terms on your behalf.
Where you are a parent or guardian giving permission for a child to use Acadu, you are responsible for the child’s use of the service and for any activity under their account. We may ask you to confirm a child’s consent at any time, and we may suspend an account if we reasonably believe that consent has not been given.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users’ data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
- Use Acadu to cheat, or to submit generated work as your own in assessed or examined work.
Acadu is a tool for learning, not for bypassing your coursework or exams. You are responsible for complying with the rules of your school, college and awarding body, and we do not endorse presenting AI-generated output as your own unaided work.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the documents and content you upload. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service to you (e.g. generating explanations and answers). Your uploaded material is private to your account: it is not shared with, or made visible to, any other student.
You confirm that you have the right to upload the material you provide, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Do not upload material you are not permitted to use. Your content is processed by third-party AI providers to generate lessons (see the Privacy Policy). When you delete your account, we delete your active account data; encrypted backups may retain copies temporarily until they are overwritten according to our backup retention schedule.
6. Syllabus content
Syllabus lessons are generated by Acadu from publicly available examination-board specifications (topic titles and stated objectives). They are original content authored by the platform and are not reproduced from any textbook or other published work. Syllabus content is shared with the students enrolled in that syllabus.
Acadu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any examination board. References to a board or specification are for identification only.
7. Intellectual property
The Acadu platform — including its software, source code, user interface, design, documentation, and the structure and presentation of generated lessons — is owned by Zikriya Technologies Limited and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. © 2026 Zikriya Technologies Limited. All rights reserved.
This does not affect your ownership of the material you upload (see section 5). You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the platform, or use our name or branding, without our prior written permission.
8. AI-generated content
Acadu uses artificial intelligence to generate explanations, answers, and study materials. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is provided for educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional advice. You should verify important information independently.
Learning aids, not assessments. Mastery scores, mistake classifications, revision recommendations and study plans are estimates generated to support your study. They should not be treated as official grades, teacher assessments or examination results.
9. Third-party services
Acadu relies on third-party providers for AI inference, hosting, storage, email and educational video content. Their terms and privacy policies apply to the parts of the service they provide, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. The providers we use, with links to their policies, are listed in our Privacy Policy.
Naming a provider does not imply any endorsement, partnership or affiliation between that provider and Acadu.
Acadu surfaces links to and embeds publicly available videos from YouTube to support your learning. These videos are the responsibility of their creators and are governed by YouTube’s Terms of Service. We do not own, produce or endorse any video content, and we cannot guarantee that a video will remain available. Safe search is enforced, but we encourage students to ask a parent or teacher if a video seems inappropriate.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acadu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Where a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you (for example by email or a notice in the app) before it takes effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Acadu is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer habitually resident in Northern Ireland, the European Union or elsewhere, this choice of law and jurisdiction does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
